West african Gaboon viper, Bitis rhinocerous



Female born with only one eye



Horned adder, Bitis caudalis, namaqua female



Limpopo province male



Perengueys adder, Bitis perengueyi



Rhino viper, Bitis nasicornis

Thanks, yeah they are superb animals, pity they aren't that easy to keep in captivity.

What problems do they have in captivity? mainly stress?

I think mimicking the conditions is the problem, day night cycle as well as temp cycling. and ofcourse their diet.

This one had to be forcefed fuzzy mice tails, thats how small these things are as babies

Yea I guess thats the problem with any dwarf Bitis, especially babies, imagine how small
Bitis schneideri babies must be, I wish I had a pair. Smile
